1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us provide a better experience by remembering your preferences and understanding how you use our product.
2. Essential Cookies (Always Active)
These cookies are strictly necessary for Orkosi to function. They cannot be disabled. The names below are the ones the service actually sets (lane 8277 audit: the table used to list names that no longer existed).
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
…_jwt | Your signed-in session (access token, HttpOnly). The name carries a legacy prefix | Minutes; renewed from the refresh cookie |
auth_rt | Renews your session without signing in again (refresh token, HttpOnly) | Days, as set by the sign-in policy |
oauth_rt | The same renewal cookie when you signed in with Google | Days, as set by the sign-in policy |
csrf_token | Protects against cross-site request forgery | 7 days |
orkosi_session | Tells the app shell a session exists so it does not bounce you to the sign-in page | As long as the session can be renewed |
…_impersonation | Set only for our support staff while they look at an account with your consent | 1 hour |
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — necessary for the service to operate.
3. Functional Cookies and Browser Storage
These remember a choice you made. They are set only when you use the feature; the free tools set theirs the first time you use a tool.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
orkosi_vid | Free tools: a random visitor id so your tool runs and exports are counted against the free quota | 400 days |
orkosi_tool_pass | Free tools: proves you signed up for the full tool quota | 180 days |
Your theme choice (orkosi_theme) and your cookie-consent decision (orkosi_cookie_consent) are kept in your browser’s local storage, not in cookies, and are never sent to us as such.
4. Analytics (Opt-in, No Cookies)
We count page views with our own, self-hosted tracker. It sets no cookie: after you accept analytics in the consent bar, the browser sends us the page path, the referring page and a random id that lives only until you close the tab. The IP address is hashed on arrival and no personal identifier is stored. With “Essential only” nothing is sent at all. There is no third-party analytics, no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracking.
Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — only with your explicit opt-in.
5. Your Choices
When you first visit Orkosi, you will see a cookie consent banner. You can:
- Accept all — enables essential, functional, and analytics cookies.
- Essential only — only essential cookies remain active. Analytics cookies are not set.
You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site, which will display the consent banner again.
6. How to Control Cookies in Your Browser
Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies from specific sites
- Accept all cookies
Note: Blocking essential cookies may impair site functionality.
7. Data Transfers
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics are fully self-hosted with no external data transfers. For payment processing via Stripe, see our Privacy Policy.
